Gold Reef City Theme Park

Entertainment includes a range of rides from the tame to the terrifying, a 4D theatre, live entertainment, rides and a variety of furry animals in he Farmyard.

The thrill rides are the Anaconda, Dream Boat Golden Loop, Jozi Express, Miner’s Revenge, Raging River Rapids, Runaway Train, Tower of Terror, UFO, Giant Wheel, Lazy Boats, Log Ride, Mermaid, 4D theatre (an interactive motion with movie ride), Tornado, Vintage Cars and Wave Swing.

Under 1.3m rides are Dragon Ride, Balloon Wheel, Carousel, Cups and Saucers, Monkey Walk Nets, Elephant Ride, Flintstones, Safari Train, Shongololo, Pit Stop, Play City and Mushroom.

Non-rider access includes Crush Museum, Fun Train, Farmyard, Gold Panning, Heritage Houses, Turtle Creek Putt Putt, Science Exploratory, Train Museum and Bullion Coach.

History of Humankind Tour

hoh-300x169From the beginning of civilization to the rawness of the wild, guests an experience a World Heritage Site on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays only.

The highlights include a visit to the World Heritage Site of the Cradle of Humankind. Focus o the development of humans at the Maropeng Visitor Centre to view the exhibition. Tour of the Sterkfontein Caves where the famous Mrs Ples and Little Foot skull and skeleton were discovered (comfortable shoes recommended). A visit to the Lesedi Cultural Village.

During the History of Humankind tour, looking from past to present, and exploring five cultures at the village. An opportunity to explore the heart and home of the families from a range of African tribes, all living in traditional homesteads, such as Zulu, Xhosa, Ndebele, Sotho and Pedi cultures. To end the tour, a traditional African meal.
